The Art of Confidence
Welcome to the collaborative space where the elements of design, passion and vision at Dasher Creations merges with the performance of the talented youth of The Art of Confidence.
This collaboration is where we leave it all on the stage and simply PERFORM!
The Art of Confidence (AOC) was established in 2011 as a performing arts alliance in Atlanta, GA. The Founders of the AOC, LeJon Payne, Shanequa Dasher, and Summer Blackmon, began their partnership as school teachers in the Atlanta Public School system. These three dynamic teachers shared a passion for education and the arts. They worked together closely to provide students in the Atlanta Public Schools’ system and Metro-Atlanta cities with artistic opportunities to enhance their creative skills.
The inaugural goal of the AOC was to provide opportunities for members of the Atlanta community to perform in major stage productions and express themselves. Since then, the AOC has evolved into a non-profit organization that additionally seeks to provide performing arts and educational opportunities to children who are less fortunate around the world. To date, we continue to strive in our initiative to support the development of youth both within our local and global communities through our Youth Movement Initiative, Dramatic Arts Programs , Global Outreach and and The Art of Financial Confidence for families initiative.
Youth Movement Initiative
The AOC began their Youth Movement Program by partnering with the International Preschools in Atlanta, GA. The purpose of our Youth Movement Initiative is to take a proactive stance against childhood obesity. Our initiative is in alignment with the former First Lady, Michelle Obama’s Let's Move Initiative, which focuses on what families, communities and the public and private sectors can do to help fight childhood obesity. The Youth Movement initiative continues to be a key program with The AOC, and has allowed us to partner with over 15 organizations in the Metro-Atlanta area.
Due to the recent pandemic, we have temporarily suspended all in-person classes and are offering a safe, virtual program with an action packed final digital production.

Dramatic Arts Program
Our Dramatic Arts program is where the collective efforts of The Art of Confidence are showcased. The goal of our program is to build confidence in each participant and enrolled student. We offer one-day workshops for schools as well as full year curriculums for after school programs. Each student engages in a multifaceted curriculum where they learn about both theatrical and commercial forms of acting. They are able to present in front of peers, give and receive peer and director feedback, and have several opportunities to experience what industry auditions are like. As a culminating activity, our dramatic arts students are able to confidently perform in a major production on a professional stage complete with professional lighting, sound, and dancers from our Youth Movement program. Due to the recent pandemic, we have temporarily suspended all in-person classes and are offering a safe, virtual program with an action packed final digital production.

Global outreach through the AOC fREE project is now the focus of the organization. The AOC Foundation, INC, FOCUS, RISE, EDUCATE, EMPOWER (fREE) project seeks to enhance national and international communities by providing free performing arts and educational classes to students who live in low socio-economic environments. Our vision is to work with communities around the world to provide a cultural exchange that will help children in impoverished communities to grow and to enhance academic skills through performing arts.
Together We CAN Make a Difference!
It has been said, that one person cannot change the world on their own, but a group of people can make a tremendous difference. The AOC fREE project will seek to partner with various organizations and people to help make a difference in the life of an orphan or refugee child by providing FREE performing arts opportunities. It is our goal to provide performing arts classes, resources, and a meal to each partnering organization in Nairobi, Kenya. You can help in the following ways: volunteering, sponsoring a meal, sponsoring an educational kit, or sponsoring a youth leader.
